The term data subject may have specific definitions in certain jurisdictions. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), for example, a data subject is defined as a natural person who can be identified, directly or indirectly, by reference to an identifier such as a name, identification number, location data, an online identifier, or to one more factors specific to the identity of that natural person.
