Advocate General's opinion on concerted practice between Italian and foreign insurance companies

On 26 January 2006, Advocate General Geelhoed handed down his opinion on series of preliminary references from the magistrate's court of Bitonto, Italy, on the application of Article 81 of the EC Treaty to a concerted practice between Italian and foreign insurance companies established in Italy covering car and motorcycle insurance contracts. The references included questions on the right to damages and the award of punitive damages.
