This note discusses the provisions of the Arbitration Act 1996 that enable the English court to grant interim injunctions (including interim freezing injunctions) and appoint receivers in support of arbitration proceedings, the circumstances in which those orders may be sought, and the way in which parties may consider responding to an application for such an order. The note also addresses the extent to which an arbitral tribunal may grant the same orders.
