The EAT held that a male nurse, who had to have a chaperone while performing a procedure on a female patient, (while female nurses were not required to have a male chaperone to perform the same procedure on a male patient) had suffered a detriment as a result of unlawful direct sex discrimination and was therefore entitled to compensation.
