The AIA is based in Rome and serves as the Italian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce. At the parties' request, the AIA can serve as appointing authority in UNCITRAL arbitration procedures. The AIA administers arbitration proceedings under its Rules. It is also a cultural institution and a think-tank on legislative policies in arbitration and dispute resolution matters.
