The EPA proposes to implement new reporting requirements under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) for pesticide registrants and applicants of new pesticide products. These include mandatory reporting of the presence of nanoscale materials in pesticides and other relevant information to determine whether a pesticide causes unreasonable adverse effects on the environment. The proposal also defines "nanoscale material" and creates a presumption that identifies nanoscale materials as "new ingredients" for purposes of registration under FIFRA.
