We have published a practice note which examines the rules of the leading arbitral institutions on the appointment of emergency arbitrators. (Free access).
An increasing number of the leading arbitral institutional rules have recently been amended so as to provide for the appointment of emergency arbitrators. We have published Practice note, Emergency arbitrators in international arbitration, which sets out the key features of emergency arbitrator procedure in general and summarises the principal provisions of the arbitration rules of the following institutions:
  • International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
  • Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC).
  • Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).
  • International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR).
  • Swiss Chambers' Arbitration Institution.
  • Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI).
  • Panel of Recognised International Market Experts in Finance (PRIME Finance).
  • Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA).
