The SEC released drafts of revised Volumes I and II of the EDGAR Filer Manual, which outlines the procedures for submitting documents to the SEC in electronic format.
On March 26, 2013, the SEC released revised drafts of Volume I and Volume II of the EDGAR Filer Manual, which outlines the procedures for submitting documents to the SEC in electronic format. If approved, the revised Filer Manual will introduce the following changes:
  • EDGAR will be updated to convert Form 13F to an online form. Form 13F may only be filed using the new online version available on the EDGAR Filing Website or a version constructed by filers according to the new "EDGAR Form 13F XML Technical Specification" document.
  • The SEC will no longer pursue its existing project of modifying the method of filing Form N-SAR from a DOS-based application to an XML application. References to the new application will be removed from the revised Filer Manual.
The SEC has provided redlined versions of Volume I and Volume II to assist in the identification of draft changes. If these drafts are approved, the changes to EDGAR will be implemented on April 29, 2013.
