This Law Firm Publication by Jackson Lewis LLP discusses two newly enacted Connecticut laws benefitting veterans. On May 24, 2013, Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy signed into law Pub. Act 13-48 and Pub. Act 13-49. Pub. Act 13-48 reinstates the eligibility for state benefits to veterans discharged on the basis of sexual orientation. Pub. Act 13-49 would extend existing military leave law protections to employees who need time off to perform military duty. Both laws become effective October 1, 2013.
