The SEC approved proposed amendments to FINRA Rule 5110, FINRA's corporate financing rule.
On May 7, 2014, the SEC approved proposed amendments to FINRA Rule 5110, FINRA's corporate financing rule, to permit additional deferred compensation arrangements in connection with public offerings. For details on the amendments, see Legal Update, FINRA Files Proposed Amendments to its Corporate Financing Rule.
FINRA will announce the implementation date of the amendments by July 7, 2014. The amendments will take effect no later than September 4, 2014.
A marked version of Rule 5110 reflecting the changes as approved by the SEC is available beginning on page 8 of FINRA's final rule filing relating to the amendments.
Update: On May 15, 2014, FINRA issued a regulatory notice announcing that the amendments take effect on May 15, 2014.
