Jackson Lewis: Eugene, Oregon Passes Paid Sick Leave Law | Practical Law

The ordinance also allows employees whose work location is not in Eugene to accrue sick leave for time worked in Eugene, and prohibits employers from requiring employees to find a replacement as a condition for using sick leave. The City Manager is directed to adopt provisions to ensure that employers can enforce reasonable policies to maintain workplace productivity and avoid possible abuse. The ordinance makes Eugene, Oregon the ninth jurisdiction in the US to adopt a paid sick leave law.
