On January 1, 2015, the Connecticut Department of Labor issued updated guidance clarifying Connecticut’s Paid Sick Leave law and provided a new Paid Sick Leave law poster for employers to display.
Determine coverage based on whether an employer has 50 or more employees in Connecticut on its payroll during the week of October 1.
Prohibit employers from firing or transferring employees to other job sites to avoid the 50-employee coverage threshold.
Provide that employees will accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked during whatever 365-day year the employer uses to calculate employee benefits.
