Jackson Lewis: California's Mandatory Sexual Harassment Training Requirements Amended | Practical Law

This Law Firm Publication by Jackson Lewis P.C. addresses new California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) regulations that became effective on April 1, 2016. The regulations add to the mandatory sexual harassment training requirements for certain employers governed by California's AB1825. The FEHA regulations provide new content requirements expanding the list of topics discussed during training, and note that audio, video, and e-learning trainings are supplemental and alone cannot fulfill AB1825's requirements. The regulations also require qualified trainers to be able to train supervisors on identifying behavior that may constitute unlawful harassment. In addition, stricter requirements are being implemented for tracking compliance, including maintaining certain elearning and webinar training records.
