Receiver

A person appointed to protect and manage secured assets by a creditor that has security over them.
A creditor with a fixed charge over assets may appoint an LPA receiver or a fixed charge receiver to them, depending on the provisions of the document creating the charge. For more information, see Practice note, LPA or fixed charge receivership.
A creditor that holds security over the whole (or substantially the whole) of the assets of a company which, as created, was a floating charge can appoint an administrative receiver (providing that one of the exceptions to the general prohibition on appointing an administrative receiver applies). For more information, see Practice note, Administrative receivership.
