Information and consultation agreement (I & C agreement)

An agreement concluded between employers and employees (or employees' representatives) pursuant to the Information and Consultation of Employees Regulations 2004. The I & C agreement will usually provide for the setting up of a national works council or other information and consultation body, and will set out the arrangements for information and consultation, including the scope of issues which are to be discussed. Consultation is defined under the regulations as the exchange of views and establishment of dialogue.
