A note outlining the changes to the law on the register of members made by the Companies Act 2006 (2006 Act). For information on the regime under the 2006 Act, see Register of members: 1 October 2009.
Part 8 (A company's members) of the 2006 Act came into force on 1 October 2009, with the exception of sections 116-119, which were brought into force in a tapered fashion on 1 October 2007, and sections 121 and 128, which came into force on 6 April 2008.
