Waste permitting

Waste management activities are regulated by several key EU waste Directives, including the Waste Framework Directive 2008 (Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 November 2008 on waste and repealing certain Directives). This note explains how those Directives are implemented in England and Wales and how waste operations are permitted under the Environmental Permitting regime.
