District of Columbia Circuit

District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals

Effective Nov. 1, 2012, all new cases opened with a Notice of Removal are required to be filed electronically.

First Circuit

District of Rhode Island

The District of Rhode Island posted an Order Approving Amendments to the Local Rules. The new rules can be viewed here.

Second Circuit

Eastern District of New York

Senior Judge Edward R. Korman updated his Individual Motion Practices.

Southern District of New York

Judge Laura Taylor Swain posted new Individual Practices, effective 1/11/13.

Western District of New York

The Western District of New York amended its local rules of civil and criminal procedure, and provided a PDF summarizing the changes.

Third Circuit

District of Delaware

Magistrate Judge Mary Pat Thynge updated her Discovery Dispute Procedures.

Fourth Circuit

Eastern District of Virginia

The Alexandria division of the Eastern District of Virginia has provided information about division-specific rules, which includes details about chambers copies of filed documents, electronic filing requirements, and filing objections to magistrate court rulings.

Fifth Circuit

Southern District of Mississippi

The Southern District of Mississippi announced that the Delta Division of the Northern District of Mississippi has been eliminated. The Local Uniform Civil Rules for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi have been amended to reflect this change.

Eastern District of Texas

The Eastern District of Texas issued two General Orders: one regarding pending case transfers, the other assigning civil and criminal actions.

Sixth Circuit

Eastern District of Kentucky

The Eastern District of Kentucky released a new Case Assignment and Recusal Order, describing how cases are assigned to judges and the procedure by which judges recuse themselves from matters.

Seventh Circuit

Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals

Effective January 2013, the Seventh Circuit will begin processing checks as electronic fund transfers.

Ninth Circuit

District of Arizona

Judge G. Murray Snow posted a Standing Order regarding trial conduct and decorum.

Northern District of California

Judge Jeffrey White posted a new Standing Order.
Magistrate Judge Maria-Elena James posted Standing Orders relating to discovery and case management.

Southern District of California

The Southern District of California amended its local rules.

District of Montana

The District of Montana adopted new local rules of procedure, effective 1/31/13.

District of Idaho

The District of Idaho updated its local rules, effective 1/9/13, and provided a redline of the changes.

Tenth Circuit

Eastern District of Oklahoma

The Eastern District of Oklahoma released a new CM/ECF Administrative Guide of Policies and Procedures. The file size for documents that may be uploaded to the court's CM/ECF system has been increased to 10 megabytes.

Eleventh Circuit

Northern District of Alabama

The Northern District of Alabama revised its civil case submission system. It also posted a General Order for the referral of civil matters to magistrate judges.
