Brown, in which the Connecticut Superior Court declined to enforce a one year non-compete agreement against a former employee who left to work for a larger competitor. Although the court found that the agreement's geographic and time restraints were reasonable, the restriction on “any” employment was not. Finding that the employee's new position was of a different character and involved different products than his position with the plaintiff, the court held that the plaintiff did not establish irreparable harm because it failed to show it would suffer economic harm beyond the legal costs of enforcing the agreement. Mere speculation of harm was insufficient.
