Preliminary Conference (PC)

A meeting between the attorneys and the judge, court attorney, or referee early in an action in New York state court. During a preliminary conference, the parties attempt to simplify the issues, set a discovery schedule, add other parties if necessary, and discuss settlement and other relevant issues.
