Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) announced that it will soon launch ISS Governance QuickScore 2.0, a methodology expansion for its proprietary scoring system designed to identify governance risk within portfolio companies.
Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) recently announced that it will soon launch a new version of ISS Governance QuickScore, referred to as QuickScore 2.0. QuickScore was designed to help institutional investors:
  • Identify and monitor potential governance risk in their portfolios.
  • Drill down on companies with governance risk.
  • Identify companies with which to engage on governance issues.
  • Access detailed data to inform their own investment models.
  • Advance compliance on mandates.
QuickScore assigns each company being assessed a numeric, decile-based score indicating its relative governance risk compared to other companies in an index or region.
QuickScore 2.0 will include:
  • New governance factors.
  • Modified weightings for certain governance factors.
  • Event-driven data updates.
  • A data validation period.
ISS plans to release a technical document on January 27, 2014 with more details about the changes included in QuickScore 2.0.
Companies can verify their governance data through the ISS Governance Analytics website before the launch of QuickScore 2.0. Companies can currently view only the governance data currently used in QuickScore. However, beginning January 27, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. (EST) until February 7, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. (EST), companies can preview their QuickScore 2.0 governance data and request any changes through the ISS Governance Analytics website. ISS will review and respond to all requests for changes.
