Kentucky has passed a new law requiring consumer notification when a data breach reveals personally identifiable information.
On April 10, 2014, the Governor of Kentucky signed H.B. 232 into law. This new act both:
  • Requires companies to notify consumers about data breaches that expose personally identifiable information.
  • Restricts cloud computing service providers' use of student data.
