The Shorter trials scheme (STS) (previously a pilot under PD 51N) became permanent with effect from 1 October 2018 in the Business and Property courts nationwide. This Practice note considers the procedures which apply to cases in the FTS under CPR Practice Direction 57AB and highlights some differences between how things usually work under the CPR and how things operate under the scheme.
