The State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television has issued new regulations governing entities that provide audiovisual program content, integration and distribution services. The new regulations, which replace prior rules issued in 2004, refine the scope of application, differentiate the legal obligations of various players in the audiovisual media industry. They also ensure that the sector continues to be wholly domestically invested and broadcast only through China’s traditional media.
