An insolvency practitioner who is appointed to manage a company’s affairs, business and property in an administration. The administrator is appointed by the court or, in an out-of-court route, by the company or its directors or a qualifying floating charge holder. At the end of the administration, the company is either returned to the control of the directors, liquidated or dissolved.
