Standard information and consultation provisions (SICP)

Arrangements under the Information and Consultation of Employees Regulations 2004 which apply where the employees have made a valid request to negotiate an information and consultation agreement, or the employer has notified the employees of its intention to negotiate, but the parties have failed to reach a negotiated agreement within the time limit (normally nine months from the request or notification) or such longer period for negotiation as has been agreed. The SICP require the employer to arrange for the election of employee representatives and to inform and consult those representatives on certain business-related matters.
