Paterson v Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis UKEAT/0635/06; [2007] IRLR 763 | Practical Law

In Paterson v the Commisioner of Police of the Metropolis the EAT held that an employee's dyslexia had an adverse effect on his normal day-to-day activities. The tribunal had erred in holding that assessments and examinations were not normal day-to-day activities. The EAT also considered the ambit of the obligation to interpret domestic law in accordance with the underlying Directive when domestic law comes into force prior to the deadline for implementation.
