This term has different meanings depending on its context:
For the purposes of Part 13 of the Companies Act 2006 (Resolutions and meetings), a company any shares of which:
Carry rights to vote at general meetings (www.practicallaw.com/2-107-6601); and
Are admitted to trading on a regulated market (www.practicallaw.com/5-200-9275) in an EEA (www.practicallaw.com/0-107-6555) state by or with the consent of the company (section 360C, Companies Act 2006).
In relation to nomination of a person to enjoy information rights under section 146 of the Companies Act 2006, a company with shares admitted to trading on a regulated market in the EEA.
