A practice note on the Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC) introduced by the Planning Act 2008.
Note: On 1 April 2012, the IPC will be abolished. The relevant Secretary of State will be the decision maker on all nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs). The Planning Inspectorate will take over the functions of the IPC and will be responsible for the examination of NSIP proposals.
