Monopolization

The use of monopoly power to exclude competitors from the market and harm competition. Monopolization also may involve the control over market prices. The offense of monopolization, which is prohibited under Section 2 of the Sherman Act, requires proof of both monopoly power and the unlawful acquisition or maintenance of that power.
