The USPTO and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Manufacturing Extensions Partnership (MEP) announced in a press release the launch of a new web-based IP Awareness Tool designed to help manufacturers, small businesses, entrepreneurs and independent investors evaluate their intellectual property, including copyrights, patents, trademarks and trade secrets.
On March 30, 2012, the USPTO and National Institute of Standards and Technology Manufacturing Extensions Partnership announced in a press release the launch of a new online IP Awareness Tool designed to help manufacturers, small businesses, entrepreneurs and independent investors evaluate their intellectual property, including:
  • Copyrights.
  • Patents.
  • Trademarks.
  • Trade secrets.
The tool is available on the USPTO website. According to the press release, the tool:
  • Offers a comprehensive set of intellectual property questions and training resources tailored to specific needs.
  • Allows users to measure and increase their awareness of intellectual property issues relating to their creative projects and business goals.
