A Practice Note addressing the Department of Labor's (DOL) safe harbor exception from the definition of employee welfare benefit plan, under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), for certain benefit arrangements in which an employer's involvement in operating the arrangement is minimal.
