The original Family Law Arbitration Scheme was launched by the Institute of Family Law Arbitrators (IFLA) on 22 February 2012. It is now known as the Family Law Arbitration Financial Scheme following the introduction of the Family Law Arbitration Children Scheme in July 2016. It provides arbitration for family law financial disputes in England and Wales. This note gives an outline of the background to the scheme, its scope and procedural rules.
