The Department of Labor's (DOL) Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) issued a revised self-identification form for government contractors to use in complying with the new affirmative action regulations issued on September 24, 2013 for individuals with disabilities.
The DOL's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) recently released the revised self-identification form government contractors are required to use to comply with the affirmative action regulations for individuals with disabilities that were issued on September 24, 2013 (see Legal Updates, DOL Issues Final Rules for Federal Contractors on Veterans and People with Disabilities and DOL Announces Final Rules to Improve Employment of Veterans, People with Disabilities). The regulations implementing Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 aim to improve job opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Under the September 24, 2013 final rule revising the implementing regulations, contractors must solicit disability information from applicants both before and after they receive a job offer, and from their employees every five years. The final rule goes into effect on March 24, 2014.
