The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has announced the debut of the new Trademarks Next Generation Acceptable Identification of Goods and Services Manual.
On November 18, 2014, the USPTO announced the publication of the new Trademarks Next Generation Acceptable Identification of Goods and Services Manual (IDM-NG). Though the manual has been launched in beta format, the IDM-NG features:
  • Basic and advanced searching options.
  • Results returned in a sortable table.
  • Relevance ranking of entries that correlate to the search criteria.
The legacy ID Manual remains available and both systems will be maintained and contain synchronized data. Users are encouraged to compare and contrast the two systems and provide feedback and suggestions to [email protected].
