Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Commissioner Joshua D. Wright will leave his position on August 24, 2015.
On August 17, 2015, Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Commissioner Joshua D. Wright announced that he will resign from his post effective August 24, 2015. President Obama appointed Commissioner Wright, a Republican, in January 2013. Commissioner Wright will return to a professorship at George Mason University School of Law.
Commissioner Wright has been a vocal presence on the FTC and recently spearheaded an effort to publish formal FTC guidance on Section 5 of the FTC Act (see Legal Update, FTC Issues Policy Statement on Section 5). For more on Commissioner Wright's FTC tenure, see:
