Increases to civil court fees took effect from Monday 21 March 2016.
The Civil Proceedings, Family Proceedings and Upper Tribunal Fees (Amendment) Order 2016 was made on Friday 18 March 2016 and came into force on Monday 21 March 2016. A number of civil court fee increases came into effect, including the following:
To start proceedings for the recovery of land in the County Court, the fee for issuing proceedings increased from £280 to £355.
To commence proceedings for the recovery of land using the Possession Claims Online (PCOL) website, the fee increased from £250 to £325.
For general applications made on notice within civil proceedings, the fee increased from £155 to £255.
For general applications made on notice where no other fee is specified made under section 3 of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 or for a payment out of funds deposited in court, the fee is £155.
For general applications made by consent or without notice, the fee increased from £50 to £100.
