A clause for insertion in an employment contract (such as, for example, Standard documents, Employment contract for a senior employee or Director's service agreement), giving the employer the discretion to make a payment in lieu of notice (PILON) and so terminate an employment contract with immediate effect, without breaching the contract. It could be adapted for insertion in Standard document, Employment contract for a junior employee.
