New York requires that LLCs, LPs, and LLPs publish notice of their formation (as a domestic entity) or registration (as a foreign entity transacting business in the state) in one daily and one weekly newspaper for a period of six weeks. Once the entity satisfies this requirement, it must file an affidavit attesting to the publication (the affidavit of publication) from the printer or publisher of each newspaper along with a certificate of publication.
