The financial institution that acts as agent for a syndicate of lenders in the appointment of the lenders' lead attorney and negotiation of the loan documentation with the borrower under a syndicated loan agreement. Often lenders will be given the title of documentation agent for marketing purposes but will have no duties associated with that title.
