This practice note provides an overview of the key financial services regulatory initiatives and measures announced by the Government in the Budget of 24 March 2010, including ongoing initiatives which the Government has indicated that it intends to take forward during 2010.

The note also links, for ease of reference, to those initiatives which have been implemented through the Finance Act 2010. The Finance Bill 2010 received Royal Assent, as the Finance Act 2010, on 8 April 2010. This note does not consider the Act or the Bill in any detail.
