Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER)

The public access service that allows users to search for and obtain docket sheets and court filings for US federal cases. PACER covers the various US federal appellate, district, and bankruptcy courts.
Generally, to access court records through PACER, the user must register for a PACER account. PACER charges users a nominal fee for downloading documents off the system.
Depending on the court, an attorney's PACER login and password may be the same as the login and password for the Case Management/Electronic Case Filing System (CM/ECF), the platform through which the attorney electronically files documents in federal court.
The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts maintains the PACER website.
