On July 11, 2012 the USPTO filed a notice announcing its publication of the Trademark Board Manual of Procedure (TBMP), Third Edition, Revision 1.
On July 11, 2012, the USPTO filed a notice announcing the publication for comment of the Trademark Board Manual of Procedure (TBMP), third edition, revision 1. Earlier, on June 19, 2012, the USPTO made available an archived copy of the May 6, 2011 third edition. The TBMP is an authoritative reference on practices and procedures for TTAB inter partes and ex parte proceedings, although it does not have the force of law.
The revised TBMP incorporates:
- TTAB practice.
- A minor change to the Trademark Act.
- Relevant changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Federal Rules of Evidence.
- Trademark case law reported between November 15, 2010 and March 2, 2012.
