EU EMIR (the Regulation on OTC derivative transactions, central counterparties and trade repositories) (648/2012) imposed a number of requirements on counterparties to derivatives contracts, central counterparties (CCPs) and trade repositories. This note provides an overview of the EMIR requirements and links to other practice notes that address aspects of the Regulation in more detail.
