This Note discusses grain marketing alternatives, including forward contracts and deferred delivery contracts and more traditional approaches for the sale of grain such as cash sale contracts. This Note also discusses the issues parties should consider to ensure that their forward contracts comply with the Commodity Exchange Act, CFTC regulations and applicable state laws.
