The main vehicles of federal telemarketing regulation are the Telephone and Consumer Fraud and Abuse Act (the Telemarketing Act), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR). This article discusses issues presented by these statutes and related regulations for sellers considering or engaging in a telemarketing campaign.  This article also, briefly, discusses a recent decision issued by the US District Court for the Central District of Illinois in a telemarketing case brought by the FTC, US v.
