On May 28, 2015, the SEC announced the agenda for an upcoming meeting of its Advisory Committee on Small and Emerging Companies, which is scheduled to take place on June 3, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. (ET). The Committee was set up to provide a formal mechanism for the SEC to receive advice and recommendations specifically related to privately-held small businesses and smaller publicly-traded companies.
Topics for discussion include:
  • Public company disclosure effectiveness.
  • Intrastate crowdfunding and Securities Act Rule 147.
  • Rules and market structure matters relevant to venture exchanges.
  • Treatment of finders.
The Committee is also expected to vote on a recommendation to the SEC regarding the Section 4(1½) resale exemption.
