This article looks at the Brazilian power sector following changes in the regulatory framework between late 2012 and the end of 2014. In 2013 a new law set out new rules intended to reduce tariffs and industry-related charges. New regulations were also introduced intended to benefit consumers and electricity companies. This article looks at the consequences of this new legislation.
