Horizontal agreement

An agreement (or restriction) between undertakings operating at the same level of supply in the market, such as between two or more manufacturers, two or more retailers or an agreement between two or more patent (www.practicallaw.com/A36632)owners (as distinct from vertical agreements (www.practicallaw.com/A37186), which are agreements between undertakings operating at different levels of the market, such as an agreement between a patent owner and his licensee).
