The China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) has recently launched a new website, with dedicated pages for English and Chinese readers. The English section contains more up to date materials than the previous site, and includes important new material, such as the recently launched CIETAC Online Arbitration Rules (see Legal update, CIETAC promulgates new Online Arbitration Rules), now available in English; reference materials (including relevant laws and regulations, and case studies); video materials; and an instant fee calculator for determining CIETAC arbitration costs.
The enhanced English website is in line with CIETAC's growing stature as a significant international arbitration institution. In 2008, CIETAC established a new record, accepting 1,230 cases, including 548 foreign-related cases. This represented a 28% increase in foreign-related disputes from the previous year (see Legal update, Recent developments at CIETAC).
The address for CIETAC's website is: http://www.cietac.org.cn/.
